Viewcone Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-10-09

This policy explains how devrives handles information when you use Viewcone, a Korean public CCTV map service.

1. Purposes of Processing

Information is processed to display public CCTV map data, return place-search results, and maintain service security and reliability. If you accept analytics cookies, it is also processed to understand how visitors find and use the service so we can improve it.

2. Information Processed

Viewcone has no accounts and does not directly request names, phone numbers, or email addresses.

1.Current location: processed temporarily on your device only after you select the location control and grant browser permission; it is not sent to or stored on our server.
2.Search queries: may be sent to the Photon search service to return results.
3.Access logs: IP address, request time, requested URL, and browser information may be generated by web and security systems for security and troubleshooting.
4.Device storage: map preferences, guide status, and your cookie choice may remain in browser storage until you remove them.
5.Usage statistics (optional): only if you accept analytics in the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 uses cookies to process the page address, how you arrived (search, link, or campaign tags), visit time and duration, device and browser type, and an anonymised IP address. The map area you view, your current location, shared pin coordinates, and search queries are never sent. Without consent nothing is sent to Google.

3. Device Permissions

Precise-location permission is used only when you explicitly request your current position. Viewcone does not request camera, microphone, or contacts access. You can revoke location permission in your browser.

4. Location Information

Current coordinates stay in your browser and are used only to place you on the map. They are not transmitted to or retained by our server, and are not used for movement tracking or personalized advertising.

5. Retention and Deletion

We do not retain current-location coordinates. Browser preferences remain until you clear them. Usage statistics are kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months and are no longer collected once you withdraw consent. Security logs are retained only as long as necessary and then deleted, unless law requires a longer period.

6. External Services

Viewcone uses OpenFreeMap for map display and Photon for place search. These providers may receive an IP address, request data, or a search query under their own policies. If you accept usage statistics, personal information is transferred abroad as follows. Recipient: Google LLC (United States, [email protected]). Items: the usage statistics in section 2, item 5. When and how: sent over the network each time you use a page. Purpose and retention: website analytics, up to 14 months. How to refuse: reject in the cookie notice or withdraw under Cookie settings; every feature of Viewcone keeps working if you refuse. We do not sell personal information or disclose it without a lawful basis.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, or withdrawal of consent where applicable. You may clear browser data and revoke location permission directly in browser settings, and withdraw analytics consent at any time from Cookie settings in the Viewcone info panel or at the bottom of each page.

8. Children's Privacy

Viewcone has no registration or age verification and does not intentionally collect personal information from children under 14. A legal guardian may contact us if deletion or another action is needed.

9. Security Measures

We use measures including HTTPS, access controls, minimized logging, and regular system checks appropriate to the information processed.

10. Privacy Contact

For privacy requests, contact [email protected]. We will handle requests without undue delay under applicable law.

11. Changes

We will publish revised terms and their effective date on this page and provide advance notice of material changes affecting user rights. Effective October 9, 2026. (Revised October 9, 2026: added consent-based usage statistics with Google Analytics 4 and the overseas transfer notice.)
